Position Overview:
The Assistant General Counsel will assist with all legal and compliance matters associated with Monumental Sports & Entertainment and its subsidiaries. This role will provide legal counsel supporting MSE’s media business as an essential strategic partner on content distribution strategy and deal execution across all platforms, including linear networks and direct-to-consumer products. Playing a key role within the media team, this role will structure, negotiate, draft, and administer content distribution agreements. This position will also be responsible for advising on a broad range of legal and business issues, including licensing, intellectual property and regulatory matters, and work on complex contract administration and compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:
Participate in linear carriage negotiations with multichannel video programming distributors and virtual multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs and vMVPDs). This includes drafting and negotiating complex agreements with cable, satellite, and over-the-top distributors for distribution of the Network.
Draft and negotiate agreements with mobile, connected devices, and SmartTV platforms for distribution of the Network’s app.
Draft, negotiate and manage content licensing and rights agreements, including with sports leagues and other programming suppliers.
Draft and negotiate various commercial contracts, including with technology vendors and infrastructure suppliers.
Provide advice and guidance to MSE executives on the legal interpretation of, and compliance with, agreements with distributors, platforms, and leagues, including most favored nations analysis.
Provide advice to MSE’s marketing team regarding advertising and promotional campaigns, including for the linear Network and digital products.
Provide advice on regulations that impact MSE’s products and initiatives (e.g., sports betting regulations).
Manage rights and clearances with respect to the MSE’s programming, including monitoring compliance with relevant league rules.
Assist with intellectual property matters.
Advice on compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
Work with outside counsel where appropriate to receive legal opinions and resolve legal disputes related to MSE’s business.
Provide general legal support.
