Job Summary:

The Florida Panthers seek a driven, passionate attorney to provide legal support to team and arena business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide detailed and timely legal and business counsel to all departments of the organization on corporate transactions, risk management, labor and employment, facilities management/vendor services, and other legal matters
Negotiate, draft, review, and manage contracts and other legal documents necessary to facilitate a variety of transactions supporting corporate governance, third-party relationships and engagements, vendor and sponsor management and procurement, facilities, and events management
Maintain familiarity with NHL rules and regulations to counsel on, and ensure compliance with, those rules and regulations
Manage litigation matters, including tracking deadlines, responding to discovery requests, and coordinating with outside counsel.
Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal department processes
Develop, approve, and enforce a variety of strong and successful policies and procedures throughout the organization
Assist with company risk management and mitigation initiatives and prepare and advise on related policies, protocols, and training in relevant areas of responsibility
Assist with corporate governance matters and maintain corporate records
Monitor and advise on current industry legal trends and developments
Develop and maintain contract management system
Prepare summary of existing and proposed contract terms
Perform other miscellaneous tasks and execute special projects as they arise.
