Fanatics Betting & Gaming’s Chief Legal Officer will be an innovative, dynamic and business-oriented leader, who will serve as the company’s senior legal advisor. The CLO will be a key member of the Fanatics Betting & Gaming executive team and will provide strategic direction on legal, business and compliance matters. In addition to being a strategic advisor to the CEO and the executive team, he/she will build and grow the team as the organization continues to scale, ensuring the company stays innovative and agile while operating within the law. The CLO will also advance business strategies and development as an effective problem solver.
What you'll do...
Serve as a senior advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing exceptional judgment and guidance while serving as a key though partner on related matters
Be involved in all aspects of the business and proactively offer analysis, insights, and recommendations with respect to legal and business issues and regulatory risks impacting the company
Participate in setting overarching company strategy and policy while actively demonstrating commitment to Fanatics Betting & Gaming’s purpose, values and goals
Oversee and develop the company’s strategy and execution of government affairs and lobbying efforts with regard to online gaming.
Build and lead Fanatics Betting & Gaming’s compliance function and continue to scale it in conjunction with company’s operational growth while strengthening collaborative relationships and transparency among the various stakeholders, including state regulatory agencies
Advise on all corporate transactional work including acquisitions and future financing and/or initial public offerings
Advise on and oversee all commercial contracts, including business development deals, all deals with vendors, marketing agreements, etc., helping Fanatics Betting & Gaming determine the right amount of risk while supporting the company’s continued business and growth
Advise on employment law and equity compensation matters including issuance of equity/stock grants
Oversee strategy for the protection and development of all forms of Fanatics Betting & Gaming’s intellectual property including its trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and patents
Advise on the litigation and regulatory risks of possible business decisions; counsel on the appropriate strategies to defend or resolve litigation associated with complex matters, such as intellectual property, antitrust/competitions, government investigations and other matters
Help navigate regulatory landscapes that impact new and existing products
Ensure that the company’s compliance policies protect the company from risk and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Work closely with privacy and security teams in updating policies, conducts trainings and ensuring compliance
As needed, select and manage outside counsel; build procedures for evaluating the quality and cost of outside counsel
