About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the Club’s efforts to utilize document generation software to automate the contract creation process for Club’s standard contracts (e.g., suite lease agreements, sponsorship agreements, contest rules, independent contractor agreements, vendor agreements, etc.).
Support Club’s commercial and marketing teams by efficiently drafting and revising Club’s standard contracts under the direction of the Associate Counsel.
Obtain and manage electronic signatures on contracts (i.e., initiate, modify, and revoke) and monitor the status of signatures on outstanding contracts.
Manage and file all of the organization’s signed contracts in the Club’s contract database.
Assist with the maintenance of the Club’s contract database (e.g., moving expired contracts to inactive status).
Maintain organized files of digital and physical records.
Execute on workflow and processes for administration of contracts (e.g., monitoring contract expirations, opt out deadlines, etc. and notifying the key stakeholders).
Understand and utilize Club’s current contracting policies and procedures, while assisting with the development of additional contract procedures and continually striving to improve the effectiveness of the contract function.
Communicate the Club’s contracting policies internally and train users on contracting systems.
Support document organization and retention policies.
Assist in document production and discovery for litigation and audit matters.
Assist the handling of workers compensation claims in collaboration with football staff and outside counsel.
Manage internal/external Certificate of Insurance requests.
Maintain the official repository of Club’s forms of various contracts (Laserfiche).
Assist with tracking and resolving intellectual property matters.
Assist on special projects as needed.
Perform various administrative and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Associate Counsel or General Counsel.
Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

About the Company
Basic Function: Perform a variety of substantive legal functions in support of the Houston Texans’ (“Club”) Legal Department, with primary responsibility being lifecycle contract activities, including preparing and revising standard contracts, obtaining electronic signatures on contracts, and filing contracts in the Club’s contract database.
