Description

As a member of Spartans legal team, the Corporate Counsel - US Events will support the companys US business units. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel US Events will be primarily responsible for drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts - including sponsorship, venue, licensing, and vendor agreements. The Corporate Counsel US Events will also assist in managing operational matters, including supporting corporate governance, litigation, risk mitigation/safety, and employee matters. The job requires deep knowledge and experience in commercial transactions (particularly relevant intellectual property experience), the ability to produce high quality work product in a fast-moving environment, a strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

Draft, analyze, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including sponsorship agreements, event services/management agreements, host city/venue agreements, e-commerce agreements, service agreements, media agreements, merchandising agreements, race operations agreements, athlete-related agreements, software/technology agreements, liability waivers, corporate governance documents, and other types of agreements and legal and non-legal documents
Create and maintain forms of contract, waivers, etc., employing best practices
Assist with risk management and related matters, including working with insurance providers and advising on safety and risk management policies and procedures
Advise on corporate governance compliance and draft related corporate documentation
Assist People Operations team with employee matters
Informally supervise Legal department support staff, including paralegal and law school interns
