About the Role

Counsel, IP is responsible for full range of IP protection including marketplace enforcement and trademark office matters for Major League Baseball entities, with primary focus on Asian countries. Mandarin speaker strongly preferred. Location – NYC, and must be available to work during some Asian business hours.

Responsibilities include:

Participate in anti-counterfeiting enforcement both online and on the ground

Work closely with business, local counsel, law enforcement to develop and implement IP protection strategies and policies

Manage foreign outside counsel, and prepare and/or supervise preparation and filing of all documents and supporting materials, relating to enforcement, prosecution and maintenance of international trademark and copyright portfolios

Negotiate, draft and/or supervise negotiation and preparation of settlement, coexistence, oppositions, cancellations, UDRP proceedings, etc.

Draft cease and desist letters and other correspondence relating to infringement of intellectual property and handle resolution of these matters

Participate in special projects, as needed
