About the Role
Position Description:
Oversees and assists with all matters related to player contracts, League policies, rosters, player transactions and salary budgets.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and refinement of league policies related to rosters, players transactions, salary budgets and competition, including the competition calendar
Administer, interpret and monitor league policies related to rosters, player transactions, salary budgets and competition
Supervise the player acquisition and termination processes, ensuring player acquisitions comply with League rules, contracts comply with roster rules and team/league caps, processing/filing documents, and terminating players
Upgrade documentation process for league policies, player data, contract data, rosters and player transactions
Ensure league and team compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement through education and review of processes
Maintain league manual and Player Handbook
Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic player affairs plan and departmental goals that will enhance the processes in connection with player services and player relations
Effectively communicate and aid in managing the League relationship U.S. Soccer Federation Player Status Department to ensure compliance with National Data Center registration and International Transfer Certificates for players
Support the teams in the NWSL and support various elements of player personnel management and overall player administration, including player visas and other immigration issues, registrations and human resource issues
Oversee all player communications
Provide assistance with preparation for and execution of major events (NWSL Draft, NWSL Championship, etc.)
Assist in preparation and execution of league committee meetings
Aid in managing the day-to-day relationship with NWSL Players Association and the related labor issues
Manage hiring and onboarding process by interviewing, selecting, orientating, and training direct reports
Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations and managing the Performance Management process:
Mentor employees;
Develop and implement department procedures and productivity standards and reinforce Company policies
Develop personal growth opportunities for direct reports
