About the Role

The Legal Intern will be an integral part of the legal team, working closely with a team of lawyers who advise LA28 on a broad range of legal matters. This position will leverage negotiation, relationship-building, critical-thinking, and communication skills to (1) support the legal needs for the organization’s functional areas, including our external affairs, finance, human resources, Games planning & delivery, technology, and commercial teams, (2) assist with operational contract negotiations, and (3) draft summaries and legal memoranda. This position will report to a Managing Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
Support LA28’s lawyers on identified business transactions and legal matters.
Participate in working groups and discussions, such as around Games venues and training sites, contract management, procurement policies, and community/government relations.
Review and understand all relevant corporate/stakeholder documents (including Host City Contract, Olympic Charter, Code of Ethics, Games Agreement, etc.).
Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, memos, contract summaries, reports, and presentations.
Assist with special projects as requested by attorneys.
While experience in these areas is preferred, we also look for candidates with intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn quickly to round out areas where a candidate may not have depth of experience.
