THE POSITION

We are looking to add an In-House Counsel to our legal team with 7+ years of experience working at a nationally-recognized law firm or in-house to provide labor and employment legal advice, oversee the drafting and implementation of employee related policies and procedures, and develop an effective framework to enable FanDuel to remain compliant with all applicable labor and employment laws and regulations. Reporting to the Vice President – Legal & Business Affairs, this position will support many of FanDuel’s business teams.


THE GAME PLAN

Partner with and provide legal guidance to colleagues in Human Resources and other key business partners regarding all substantive employment law areas.
Assist with providing employment legal advice in a broad range of employment related matters and projects.
Draft and counsel on employment-related documents, including contracts, offer letters, agreements and policies.
Provide advice and develop strategy with senior leadership on company-wide initiatives affecting employees.
Keep abreast of and address compliance and issues of interpretation under federal, state and local employment laws including the Age Discrimination In Employment Act, Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, ACA, and Paid Leave.
Lead employment law-related projects, including process reviews, new policy creation and implementation, and creation and delivery of training programs.
Handle and/or provide support on employment-related pre-litigation and litigation matters. Oversee outside counsel as needed.
Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government oversight activities relating to employment issues and provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant partners.
Counsel key partners concerning employment-related matters in new markets.
Provide legal support for FanDuel's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Maintain and keep up-to-date expert knowledge of employment laws, regulations, pending legislation and practices.
Build close relationships with personnel at supported business operations.
Provide sound business judgment, confidence, a sense of ownership, drive, comfort making tough calls where the answer is not clear, and an aptitude to learn quickly the nuances of the internet, technology and media businesses.
