About the Role

Position Summary
The Law Clerk is responsible for supporting the Vice President of Legal Affairs through a variety of tasks, including client communication, drafting documents and templates, reviewing and advising on corporate and employment agreements, and conducting legal research and writing.

Primary Responsibilities
Prepare advice for internal departments on legal issues and risks, human resources matters, agreement structures, approval processes, regulations, and general agreement strategy
Review and analyze Major League Soccer (“MLS”), US Soccer, and FIFA rules and regulations and advise stakeholders regarding interpretation and compliance
Monitor compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations and organization-wide trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property matters
Assist in creating and managing an electronic document repository that tracks key legal documents to ensure compliance with appropriate laws and internal policies and procedures
Draft, review, and revise a wide range of legal documents
Assist in preparing publications and handouts for league and team use
Organize legal memoranda and correspondence.
Proof documents for review
Assist with compliance plans on an as-needed basis
Assist in developing template documents, compliance procedures, and policies to ensure efficient management of legal matters
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on legal matters impacting the organization
Work with outside counsel on certain projects, as needed
Other duties as assigned
