About the Role

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
The Law Clerk will work directly with attorneys and business parties at MLB Players, Inc., which oversees the business affairs and licensing matters for MLBPA. Primary responsibilities include researching legal issues, including those relating to intellectual property, sports and contract law, and assisting with the enforcement of intellectual property rights. The Law Clerk also will assist with licensing agreements, trademark proceedings and other projects as needed.



Qualifications:
1L or 2L with excellent academic credentials
Course work and practical experience in intellectual property law and the sports, media or entertainment industries are a plus
Strong proficiency in legal research
Excellent legal analysis and writing skills
Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively orally and in writing
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
The desire/ability to work part time (in our NY office) during the first semester of the school year following the summer is a plus, although such opportunity is not guaranteed

Additional Information:

Office hours are 9a-5p. Overtime may be required from time to time.
The desire/ability to work in our NY office 2 days a week

Location: Hybrid – Must be able to come into our office to work 1 to 2 days per week.

Salary: $25.00 per hour
