About the Role

Position Summary:

The Legal Counsel for Data Privacy & Security will be responsible for performing, at the direction of the operational and legal leadership, and other senior department attorneys (as applicable), professional legal work related to assigned matters for AEG and AEG Presents, specifically in the areas of data privacy and security and technology licensing and transfer.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for providing data privacy and security subject matter expertise and legal support for the business of AEG and its subsidiaries (e.g., AEG Presents, Goldenvoice etc.), including liaising with internal legal, digital, operational and marketing teams; reviewing and analyzing privacy laws and working with business stakeholders in implementing applicable requirements under such laws; reviewing and drafting data privacy-related provision in various agreements; and advising key internal stakeholders on privacy and advertising-related issues.

Drive and set consistent data privacy and security policies and practices across the company, including an initial review of current state of data-related policies and practices and maintain fully documented policies and practice sin place, consistent with all applicable laws.

Ensure AEG maintains fully documented policies and practices in place, consistent with all applicable laws.
Review data privacy and related contract provisions in various agreements, including negotiating agreements which include technological solutions or are otherwise subject to applicable data protection and privacy laws, such as SaaS agreements, AdTech, technology development agreements, technology licensing, and data sharing agreements.

Advise AEG’s and AEG Present’s product teams on data privacy and security compliance (including app store requirements) as a part of the software development and deployment process, including but not limited to consumer facing mobile software, web development, SMS, and ticketing flows.

Work with AEG, AEG Presents and their affiliates (including, without limitation, Goldenvoice) and regional festival teams to create on-site processes that enable the sharing of ticketholder data with third parties (including sponsors) consistent with applicable laws and privacy policies.

Coordinate with AEG’s and AEG Presents’ ticketing providers (including AXS) to enhance the collection, transfer and use of data during the ticket purchase flow process in accordance with applicable law.

Oversee all third-party data requests, contracting, and fulfilment process both with AEG and AEG Presents digital, marketing and ticketing teams and respond to inquiries related to privacy and advertising matters from regulatory bodies and others.

Coordinate responsive action with internal legal and other stakeholders in the event of a data breach and any other relevant issues.

Advise AEG’s sponsorship group and internal operations/consultants to ensure data flows relating to digital asset (e.g., NFTs) sales and marketing meet business use needs in compliance with applicable law.
