About the Role

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversight of commercial insurance policies (encompasses property, casualty, executive risk, and workers’ compensation) and broker relationships, including annual insurance policy renewals, required policy audits, corporate insurance budget, and premium payments.
Understanding of unique policies, including accident coverage, event-specific liability, AD&D and other catastrophe insurance, professional sports player contract insurance, “Key Man” life insurance, medical professional liability, large group captives, and others.
Responsible for all business licensing with the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County, the State of Minnesota, and other governmental organizations, including liquor licensing, permits, vehicle licenses, etc.
Manage workers’ compensation claims, including bill review service, return-to-work scenarios, medical provider relationships, and 3rd party risk consultants.
Experience with Safety Committee roles and activities, Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy implementation, and Temporary Alternative Duty program.
Responsible for meeting OSHA requirements, including annual 300/301 reporting, “Right to Know” Policy, and assistance with OSHA investigations.
Point person for incoming liability claims- overseeing the process from incident report to settlement, coordination of problem claims with outside legal counsel and adjusters Participation with miscellaneous legal matters, including corporate licensing matters, corporate registrations, entity charts, Document Retention Schedules, tracking and management of outside legal services and fees, bankruptcy claims, trademark issues.
Work with the Senior Leadership to develop and update risk and insurance-related policies and procedures.
Conduct departmental risk assessments, mitigation, and reviews.
Collaborate with facilities regarding ADA compliance.
Act as a point person with guest services staff on any customer/guest-related claims, questions, injuries, or follow-up.
General knowledge and understanding of Contractual indemnification and insurance clauses; proven ability to review contractual insurance-related clauses and ensure consistency and compliance across all entities.
Contributor to license renewals (i.e. liquor license, city/government registrations, etc.).
Day-to-day management of broker relationships.
Conducts and coordinates on-site insurance and appraisal visits.

The Manager of Risk & Legal Compliance will oversee the day-to-day risk management of multiple entities within our matrixed organization. They will ensure compliance with all contractual matters, from consistency in contractual insurance requirements to issuance of Certificates of Insurance. They will be a part of the team and will assist with insurance renewal processes and updating of organizations’ risk-related policies and procedures.
