About the Role
The NBA Legal Department provides advice and counsel with respect to the League's activities and businesses on a global basis. The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association jointly maintain and administer a comprehensive Anti-Drug Program (the Program) for NBA players to detect and deter drug use by players, and to provide treatment and counseling for those who are struggling with a substance abuse problem.
The Program Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting NBA attorneys' administration of the Program, including by reviewing and updating educational materials for players, ensuring team compliance with distribution of materials relating to the Anti-Drug Program, sending correspondence to Program Medical Directors, maintaining up-to-date files and collecting and organizing data relating to historical Program information. The Legal Assistant will also provide support for drug testing of coaches, athletic trainers, and referees, as well as similar programs in the NBA G League and WNBA.
