Job Responsibilities
Manage the day to day workflow of the legal department including direct reports - associate counsel and paralegal.
Collaborate with EVP & Chief Legal Officer on development and execution of long-term and short-term legal strategy.
Participate in budget preparation and ensure accountability to budget expectations.
Prepare, review and negotiate all varieties of legal documents including but not limited to sponsorship agreements, employment agreements, merchandising agreements, vendor/service agreements, technology/software agreements, event agreements and consulting agreements.
Manage and protect the IP portfolio of the team in collaboration with the NFL.
Proactively anticipate, identify and manage liability areas and legal exposure.
Advise on proposed significant business transactions.
Review, understand, maintain and provide advice on corporate documents, NFL documents, stadium agreements and major partner agreements.
Interpret, draft and provide guidance related to NFL rules and regulations.
Manage pending and open litigation matters with the assistance of outside counsel, including document production and other discovery requests.
Provide input into organizational business project teams as appropriate.
Provide counsel and advice to ownership ancillary entities as requested and work closely with counsel and advisors for such entities.
Develop and maintain strong, cooperative inter/intra departmental and interpersonal relationships including the following:
Collaboratively work with People & Culture team to review, update and develop internal employee guides and policies.
Work closely with Finance department on financial elements of contracts, financial compliance issues and other finance-related legal matters.
Partner with Revenue Team including Ticket Sales, Corporate Partnerships and Premium Sales to ensure collaborative legal approach to sales related agreements.
Develop positive working relationships with stadium partners, concessionaire, merchandise partner and other external vendors.
Work with MV Ventures legal counsel on real estate, property and stadium use agreement related legal matters.

About the Company
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Director of Legal Affairs will be to provide necessary legal support, advice and counsel to the Minnesota Vikings organization and its various departments while overseeing the day to day workflow of the legal department. This role will report to the EVP & Chief Legal Officer and will be part of a five person legal team, which also includes an associate counsel, paralegal and an admin assistant.
