About This Role

PrizePicks is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel — Commercial to help support PrizePicks legal department in the review, negotiation, drafting, and management of legal agreements related to the operation of its DFS platform, including member agreements and terms of service, I/T and vendor agreements and SLAs, sponsorship agreements, the protection of its intellectual property assets and licenses, and the general upkeep and management of its contract database.



Key Accountabilities:

Create document review and approval process.
Manage delegation of authority policy, including building out appropriate internal controls for tracking the same.
Build new contract management database to store contracts, track key terms, and monitor multiple drafts and renewals.
Work cross-department with product and marketing teams to ensure well-rounded, cross-functional documentation of key agreements, ensuring compliance with responsible gaming commitments, legal requirements, and other internal controls and/or policies.
Review and update member agreements and terms of service and assist with conflicts arising out of the same.
Develop contract templates for use by key departments, including updates of I/T SLAs, marketing/sponsorships agreements for use with affiliate program, and consulting services.
Assist with management of key intellectual property strategies, including applying for and maintaining registrations for marks and patents.
Assist with general corporate matters as needed by the SVP of Legal & Compliance.
Responsibilities:

Stay abreast of changes to state and federal DFS regulations, licensure requirements and third party requirements (e.g. payment processors, banks and credit card companies).
Assist legal team in managing state DFS licensing regulatory obligations and how those relate to legal.
Provide legal guidance to our Product and Engineering teams as a partner in order to successfully launch compelling and compliant products and services.
Assist SVP of Legal & Compliance with day-to-day management of the department
Partner with and support our Marketing and Design teams, advising on marketing collateral and offering claims/legality
Partner with and support our Finance and Operations team advising on contracts
Maintain knowledge of organization’s operations and legal documents
Remain up-to-date on relevant industry, consumer protection, and advertising laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound advice
