About the Role
JOB MISSION
As a trademark paralegal at New Balance, you will provide the Senior Counsel for Brand Enforcement and the Legal Department with support in all aspects of trademark maintenance, brand enforcement, and contract drafting. This role has a high level of independence and will be expected to routinely utilize keen judgment and problem solving in a dynamic team environment.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage full docket of litigation and administrative actions with a strong focus in China
Assist with online brand and counterfeit enforcement programs with third party vendors and use relevant tools throughout various regions
Perform and analyze preliminary common law searches and global trademark searches for clearance purposes using Saegis and other online search tools
Conducting quality control reviews of trademarks, logos, and graphics on product, packaging and advertising
Manage the Company’s domain portfolio by assisting with registering domains, ownership transfers and domain takedowns
Review global trademark watch notices and instruct outside counsel on oppositions, non-cancellation actions and invalidation actions
Work with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies and legal representatives throughout the world to identify and prevent the sale of counterfeit and copycat product, both online and offline
