The Role

AXS is seeking a VP, Legal Counsel to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This position reports to the General Counsel. The responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal documents, resolving disputes, supervising outside counsel, and intellectual property protection and ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

What Will You Do?

Serve as legal advisor to the General Counsel on all key business transactions and legal matters for AXS and its subsidiaries.
Prepare, review, and assist in negotiations on all varieties of legal documents including commercial contracts, master service agreements, API licenses, sponsorship agreements, employment related agreements, vendor/service agreements, consulting agreements, leases, finance documents, and legal correspondence, and drafting form contracts.
Develop and implement compliance strategies, including privacy, data rights, and data security best practices and planning, draft data privacy agreements and data sharing agreements, consult with company stakeholders regarding data privacy.
Advise in the areas of employment practices, human resources, and general business practice compliance.
Update AXS.com Purchase Agreement, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policies, and FAQs to reflect changes to business operations and privacy laws.
Supervise outside counsel on matters requiring representation such as litigation, arbitration, and disputes.
Supervise Data Privacy Officer and Supervise Legal Assistant.
Keep current on industry-wide legal trends and developments, and legislation regarding ticketing.
