Companies, minor-league baseball teams lose 9th Circuit COVID-19 coverage appeals

All-risk property insurers on Friday scored three more wins against businesses seeking coverage for lost income and related expenses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic – this time in the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, where more than a third of all such federal appeals are pending.

The 9th Circuit affirmed lower-court dismissals of proposed class actions filed by two California businesses, Mudpie Inc and Selane Products Inc, as well as a lawsuit filed in Arizona federal court by two dozen minor-league baseball teams, stadium owners and related entities doing business in 10 states.
