FIFA, U.S. Soccer ask 2nd Cir. to reject antitrust appeal over foreign ban match

U.S. Soccer Federation Inc. and the sport’s global governing body, FIFA, asked the Second Circuit to affirm dismissal of claims that they conspired to prevent foreign teams from playing official matches in the U.S.

Relevent Sports LLC’s attempt to revive its antitrust claims against the soccer defendants should be denied, because the sports promoter has adopted a new theory of liability on appeal, FIFA and U.S. Soccer say.
