Fired Angels employee Bubba Harkins wants lawsuit over ball-tampering reinstated by California appellate court

The former visiting clubhouse manager for the Los Angeles Angels, who was fired for alleged ball-tampering, asked a California appellate court on Tuesday to revive his defamation claims against Major League Baseball and the team.

Brian “Bubba” Harkins worked for the Angels for nearly 40 years, and during that time made a mixture of rosin and pine tar which he distributed to pitchers on various teams and dubbed “the sticky stuff,” according to a lawsuit he had filed in Orange County Superior Court.
