MLB tells Players Association deal needed by Feb. 28 to start regular season on time

Feb 17, 2022

Per Evan Drellich: Major League Baseball has informed the Players Association that it believes a new collective bargaining agreement would be needed by Feb. 28 to start the 2022 season on time, sources confirmed to The Athletic. It’s unknown whether the players fully agree that’s the cutoff date, but if there is some flexibility in that date, it’s probably only a matter of days, on the assumption that spring training will be about four weeks long.
