NBA players’ union asks federal court to send aspiring agent’s lawsuit to arbitration

The National Basketball Players Association asked a federal court to send to arbitration an attorney’s claims that it conspired with the league to deny his request to take an exam to become a players’ agent.

Plaintiff Rosel C. Hurley III’s claims are “explicitly included in the scope of the arbitration agreement” because the complaint alleges the claim arises from the union’s denial of his application, the NBPA told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio Monday.
