NBA seeks to dismiss would-be agent’s antitrust conspiracy suit

The NBA asked a federal court in Ohio to dismiss antitrust claims brought by an attorney who alleges the league conspired with the National Basketball Players Association to deny his request to take an exam to become a player agent.

Plaintiff Rosel Hurley III failed to allege that anyone at the NBA had any role in the players association’s decision to deny his request, the league told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Sept. 10.
