NFL stepping aside for now from Spanos siblings’ court battle over Chargers

Aug 27, 2021

The NFL has reversed course and decided the bitter legal battle over the future of the LA Chargers between Dean Spanos and his sister, Dea Berberian, should not immediately go to league-managed arbitration but remain in California state court, according to Berberian’s lawyer.

“The NFL is standing down until the court decides who has jurisdiction,” her counsel, Adam Streisand, wrote in an email. This is a marked change from earlier this year when the NFL insisted the siblings’ vitriolic contretemps belonged in arbitration.
