The National Women’s Soccer League said it has hired an outside law firm to investigate allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct that have rocked the league in recent days.
The league said the investigations would be conducted by law firm Covington & Burling, reporting to a new executive committee that will run the league after commissioner Lisa Baird resigned late Friday. The initiatives will include a review of how players are treated on and off the field with an eye toward reform.
