Ruling on Arizona sports betting lawsuit delayed until Labor Day

A Maricopa County judge won’t rule on a case that could delay or disrupt the launch of sports wagering in the state of Arizona until Labor Day.

Superior Court Judge James Smith set an evidentiary hearing for Sept. 6, Labor Day, in the lawsuit being brought against Gov. Doug Ducey and Department of Gaming head Ted Vogt by the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe.
